Donovan Named To CoSIDA Academic All-District Second Team

AMHERST, Mass. - UMass senior rower Megan Donovan has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team, as announced by CoSIDA on Thursday. Donovan was also named the UMass Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Atlantic 10 Rowing Student-Athlete of the Year. She will lead the Minutewomen into the USRowing Collegiate Championships this weekend in West Windsor, N.J.
A First Team All-Conference selection, Donovan is a Kinesiology major with a 3.966 GPA throughout her college career. She has been named to Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team for two straight seasons, and was named to the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll following the Fall 2009 semester.
The Orange, Mass. native has been an integral part of the Minutewomen squad throughout the 2009-10 season. She was a member of the Second Varsity 8+ and Quad boats that earned runner-up finishes at the annual Atlantic 10 Championships, and helped the Lightweight 8+ capture the gold medal at the Dad Vail Regatta.
