AMHERST, Mass. - UMass men's swimming coach Russ Yarworth is happy to announce the signing of Michael Glenn to a National Letter of Intent. Glenn, from Overland Park, Kan., will join the 12-time Atlantic 10 champion Minutemen as a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American for the 2011-12 season.
Glenn is a member of the USA swimming's Kansas City Blazers, where he has posted SC Junior National cuts in the 400 IM, 200 and 100 breastrokes. As a junior at Blue Valley West High School he was named 1st Team All-State as well as being named 1st Team All-Metro and All-Sun County.
The accolades go way beyond the pool for Glenn. He holds a 4.2 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars.
"Michael is going to be a great addition to our Championship program," Yarworth said. "He's an awesome student and a versatile swimmer, one who I'm sure will help us continue to battle for the A10 title each year."
