AMHERST, Mass. - All three UMass seniors, defender Jaime Bourazeris, midfielder Katie Kelly, and defender Makaela Potts, and junior goalkeeper Alesha Widdall were all named 2010 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-Region as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association on Thursday. Kelly, Potts, and Widdall were all named First-Team All-Northeast Region, while Bourazeris earned Second-Team honors.

It is the third-straight year Potts and Widdall have been named First-Team All-Region, while Kelly was named to the Second Team in 2009 and Bourazeris earns her first All-Region honor.

The 2010 Longstreth/NFHCA All-American Teams will be selected from the five All-Region Teams and be announced on Monday, Nov. 22.

Justine Sowry's Minutewomen are tied with Boston College and Boston University for the most first-team honorees in the Northeast Region with three.

Potts, a 2008 and 2009 All-American, was once again the backbone of the UMass team in 2010, controlling the center of the field and directing the UMass attack from the backfield. The Sydney, Australia native was a key member on both the offensive and defensive corner units and finished the season with 16 points on six goals and four assists. Potts was named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year for the second-straight season in 2010 while garnering First-Team All-Conference and A-10 All-Championship honors for the third year in a row.

Potts finished her career with 58 points on 20 goals and 18 assists in 85 starts in 89 career games.

Widdall, a 2008 All-American, again established herself as one of the nation's top goalkeepers in 2010, starting all 23 games for the Minutewomen and posting a 15-8 record with a 1.19 goals against average, a .776 save percentage, and eight shutouts. The Whitney Point, N.Y. native ranks tied for third nationally in shutouts, eighth in save percentage and ninth in the country in goals against average. Widdall was named Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team for the third year in a row to go with her third-straight first team Regional All-American selection and was named A-10 Student-Athlete of the Year for her work in the classroom as well as on the field.

Widdall will enter her senior season in 2011 as the most experienced goalkeeper in the country with 4,347 minutes played and a 40-21 record, 1.24 GAA, .778 save percentage, and 21 shutouts in her career.

Kelly, the leader of the UMass offense for the last two season, earns first team All-Region honors in 2010 after receiving second team honors in 2009. The two-year UMass captain registered her third-straight double-digit goals season and led the Minutewomen in goals (11), game-winning goals (5), assists (9), and points (31). The Dedham, Mass. native was named to both the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team and All-Championship Team for the third year in a row and was named Academic All-Conference. She was selected as a NFHCA Senior All-Star as well.

Kelly finished her career at UMass ranked in the top 10 in career points (93, sixth), goals (36, tied for seventh), and assists (21, eighth) after playing in 88 games and starting in 74.

Bourazeris earned her first All-Region honor in 2010 after starting all 89 games in the UMass backfield in her career. The always steady defender helped make UMass' defense one of the nation's stingiest over her four years, while also serving as a key member of both the offensive and defensive corner units. The New Hyde Park, N.Y. native finished 2010 with 16 points on four goals and eight assists. Bourazeris was named First-Team All-Atlantic 10 for the first time after being named to the Second Team in 2009, Honorable Mention in 2008, and All-Rookie in 2007. She also garnered her third A-10 All-Championship Team honor.

Bourazeris finished her career with 50 points on 16 goals and 18 assists. Seven of her 16 goals were game-winners.

The Minutewomen won their 12th Atlantic 10 Championship and made their 22nd NCAA Tournament appearance in 2010. The No. 18 Minutewomen earned an at-large bid to the NCAA field of 16 and fell at No. 1 Maryland, 4-2 on Nov. 13, finishing the season with a 15-8 record.
