Playing about two hours from their home in Blacksburg, Va., a pair of Minutemen collected CAA Weekly honors after the big comeback win at James Madison on Saturday. Junior linebacker Tyler Holmes was named the CAA Defensive Player Of The Week while CAA Special Teams Player Of The Week honors went to Caleb Violette.

CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week - Tyler Holmes, LB, Massachusetts
Holmes garnered his second CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week honor this season by helping the Minutemen to a come-from-behind 21-14 win at James Madison Saturday. The junior registered a game-high 14 tackles in the victory, including 1.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage for a loss of 10 yards. The Buck Buchanan Award candidate was part of a defense which shutout the Dukes in the second half forcing two punts and two turnovers on downs in four total possessions. Holmes' biggest play of the day came on JMU's last possession when he sacked Kavon Seaton for a 10-yard loss on first down inside the UMass redzone -- the sack helped stall the Dukes drive which ended in a turnover on downs.

CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week - Caleb Violette, PK/P, Massachusetts
Violette was named CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week after logging two 50+ yard punts in Massachusetts' 21-14 win at James Madison Saturday. Violette, who also serves as the Minutemen's placekicker, remained perfect on the season by making both of his two PAT's (19-of-19) and posted two field goals in the come-from-behind win with distances of 33 and 25 yards. The sophomore finished the contest with an average of 53 yards/punt while UMass did not allow any punt return yards on the day.
