AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass Rowing team will begin its pursuit of a 14th Atlantic 10 title when it travels to Deland, Florida for its annual winter training trip. The Minutewomen will be in the Sunshine State from January 6-16 in anticipation of the 2010 season. Head Coach Jim Dietz will have the Minutewomen on the St. John's River to work on speed and technique for the upcoming season.

"We will be sculling and sweep rowing during these training sessions, in small and big boats, to focus on improving technique and performance," said senior caption Ana Tocco. The Minutewomen will complete the training week with a coxswain-singles race, in which the coxswains race one another in single boats.

UMass Rowing will kick off its season during the first weekend in March.
