Rowing Prepares For Head Of The Fish On Sunday

AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass rowing team will travel to Saratoga, N.Y. this weekend to participate in the Head of the Fish Regatta. The Minutewomen are coming off a big weekend at the Head of the Charles and are looking to continue their success in New York. Massachusetts has entered boats in 15 races, including a varsity, junior varsity, and lightweight eight.
In its 24th year, the Head of the Fish is co-hosted by the Saratoga Springs Rowing Club and the Saratoga Rowing Association. This year the regatta will be held on the same 2.2-mile course as it has been used for the past 23 years. Although rain is forecasted for Saturday in Saratoga, it is supposed to calm down for all UMass races on Sunday. Juniors and open events are slated for Saturday, while collegiate and masters events are set to kickoff on Sunday morning.
