*Liam Coen was nearly perfect on the afternoon throwing 15-for-17 for 241 yards and three touchdowns. It was his 12th-career three-touchdown game.
*Coen's 88.2 completion percentage was the second-best in a single-game in UMass history. Tim Day was 17-of-19 for 89.4 at Delaware State in 2004.
*Josh Jennings had his first-career two interception game with the second going for a 40-yard touchdown, his first-career score. He had his second career interception on the second play of the game. His other interception came in the Albany game, the season opener of 2008.
*Jennings' two-interception game, was the first by a UMass player since Brandon Smith had two picks at Richmond on Sept. 1, 2005.
*CAA leading receiver Victor Cruz has his third-career 100-yard receiving game with 129 yards.
*Cruz had his second-career two-touchdown game, the first came at James Madison (9/13/08).
*UMass had a season-best eight sacks, coming from seven different players: George Byrd, Eric Dickson, Terrence Farris, Darrlyn Fenner (2), Kyle Harrington, Anthony Monette, and Shane Viveiros.
*George Byrd and Darrlyn Fenner had back-to-back sacks in the first quarter to give UMass six sacks in a five-quarter span in two games after only six sacks in the first seven games.
*Tony Nelson had his fourth-career multi-touchdown game and third this season, scoring two TDs in the first quarter.
*Chris Zardas had his fifth-career TD, which was his third-career receiving touchdown, but first this year after he had a pair of rushing scores at Northeastern.
*UMass has changed its play in the first quarter after a slow start to the season. In its first four games, UMass was outscored 61-7 in the first period. Over the last five games, UMass has outscored its foes 49-30.
*UMass used 55 of its 56 dressed players for the game.
*On the defensive line, Ray Jones started in place of Brandon Collier.
*On the offensive line, John Ihne started at center while Sean Calicchio moved to right guard in place of Rob Getek, who did not travel due to a neck injury.
*Corey Davis drew his first start at cornerback in place of Sean Smalls, who will miss the rest of the year with a cracked hip.
*With the win, the Senior Class of 2008 has reached 36 wins (and counting) in their careers.
