Tynan Named Rowing Assistant Coach

AMHERST, Mass. - Patrick Tynan a 1999 graduate of the University of Massachusetts returns to the campus as the Assistant Coach of the women's crew team.
While at UMass as a student, Tynan began his career as the assistant coach of the UMass Men's rowing team, a club level program at the university. He also worked as the Assistant Rowing Coach for Deerfield Academy Women's Rowing until June 2000.
For the next seven years he spent his summers coaching at multiple rowing camps located throughout Maine, at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. And at Yale University's Bulldog rowing camp in New Haven, Conn.
In addition, to working at those camps, from August 2000-June 2006 he was the Assistant Coach of Men's and Women's Rowing at Colby College in Waterville, Maine where he was responsible for recruiting, training and coaching the freshmen men's and women's teams as well as directing the summer rowing program for high school students.
From August 2006 until July 2007 Tynan took over as the head coach of the women's rowing team for Williams College where he guided the team to an NCAA National Championship.
