Baseball Sets Out On Roadtrip

AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass baseball team (0-3) will resume action this weekend under the Florida sun at the IMG Baseball Complex when they open an eight game road trip. The opening game of the trip will be played against the Darmouth Big Green on Saturday, March 17 at 3 p.m. The Minutemen will then square off against Northwestern (March 18 3 p.m. and March 20, 2:30 p.m.), Jacksonville State, (March 19 2:30 p.m.) and Illinois (March 21, 10 a.m.).
Following the games in Florida, UMass will venture north to commence the Atlantic 10 portion of its 2007 slate. The Minutemenwill take on the Temple Owls in Philadelphia, Pa. for three games, March 23 at 3 p.m., and March 24 and 25, both at 12 p.m.
UMass opened their schedule last weekend with a three game series against the University of Central Florida Golden Knights. Despite returning empty-handed in terms of wins, UMass showed signs of a promising season. Junior catcher Bryan Garrity (Peabody, Mass.) lead the way, hitting .400 in the first three games of the season. Junior first basemen and pitcher Bryan Adamski (South Deerfield, Mass.) collected four hits and looked strong in relief.
