Field Hockey Earns NFHCA Academic Awards

AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass field hockey team was recognized as one of 55 teams in the nation to post over a 3.0 team cumulative grade point average for the 2006 season.

Four Minutewomen field hockey players were named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad. Current team members Amy Novak, Erin Parker and Nancy Wagenbrenner earned spots on the team.

Parker earned a spot on the the team for the second year in a row. For Novak and Wagenbrenner it was her first honor.

Additionally Ann DeSanctis was also named to the Academic Squad.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced these honors earlier this week.
