UMass Rowing Competes At Head Of The Charles

Boston, Mass. - The UMass women's rowing team raced at The Head of the Charles this weekend. The varsity eight finished 27th in its event, while the lightweight eight came in 13th.

The U.S. Rowing Training Center team, based in Princeton, N.J., won the championship eight with a time of 15:26.572. The UMass varsity eight finished 27th with a time of 17:37.897.

In the lightweight eight, the London Training Center had the winning boat. They crossed the finish line with a time of 16:15.442. UMass' entry was 13th with a time of 19:23.758.

A boat featuring UMass Alumni, entered in the club eight competition. They finished 33rd with a time of 19:01.803. The University of Tennessee was first turning in a time of 17:16.740.

The Minutewomen will race at the The Head of the Fish next weekend.
