CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Chris Salvaggione's goal in the 67th minute proved the difference Sunday afternoon as the Charlotte 49ers defeated the UMass men's soccer team 1-0. Both teams battled through a scoreless first half. UMass managed three shots in the period, while the 49ers tallied just one.
After halftime, each side cranked up the offense firing six shots apiece. UMass managed five corner kicks, four in the first half, but was unable to convert any of them.
