Minutewomen Place Tenth Overall at Reebok Boston Indoor Games

Roxbury, Mass. - The Minutewomen had multiple athletes achieve seasonal bests at the Reebok Boston Indoor Games hosted by Northeastern University. Overall, the Minutewomen placed tenth out of thirteen teams.
In the 200 meter dash, sophomore Dionise Miranda (Brockton, Mass.) placed tenth with a time of 26.74 seconds, while freshman Holly Heinricher (Foxboro, Mass.) was right behind in eleventh place with a time of 26.94 seconds. Both times were a seasonal best so far this season.
In the 500 meter dash, freshman Nicole Serapiglia (Northboro, Mass), junior Jennifer Curtin (Medford, N.Y.), freshman Brittany Bakanowski (Northboro, Mass.) and freshman Michelle Finley (Boston, Mass.) all posted seasonal bests. Serapiglia placed nineteenth in 1:20.67, Curtin placed twenty-first in 1:20.88, Bakanowski placed twenty-fifth in 1:22.52, and Finley placed thirty-second in 1:25.51.
Freshman Shiyi Zan (Ottawa, Ontario) placed seventh in the 1 mile run with a time of 5:24.79. Freshman Stephanie Mattar (Elmont, N.Y.) placed tenth in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:22.87, a seasonal best. Junior Ashley Davidson (Natick, Mass.) also had a seasonal best in the 1000 meter run to place seventeenth with a time of 3:05.05. In the 3000 meter run, junior Christina DeRosa (Sound Beach, N.Y.) placed fourth with a time of 10:24.73. Right behind her was junior Amber Sayer (Amherst, Mass.) in fifth place with a time of 10:28.86.
In field events, sophomore Elizabeth Biehl (Northboro, Mass.) and senior Katelyn O'Toole (North Andover, Mass.) tied for eleventh place in the high jump competition with a jump of 4 feet, 11.75 inches. For O'Toole, this was a seasonal best for the high jump competition. Freshman Molly Chapin (Northfield, Mass.) placed tenth in the pole vault with a seasonal best jump of 10 feet. Senior Dawn Cheri Soares (New Bedford, Mass.) had a seasonal best performance in the long jump competition with a distance of 17 feet, 1.5 inches to place sixth. Freshman Lisa Wilson (Holden, Mass.) placed thirteenth in the shot put with a seasonal best throw of 35 feet, 5 inches. Wilson also placed eighteenth in the weight throw competition with a throw of 40 feet, 4 inches.
On Saturday, Minutewomen will travel to Kingston, Rhode Island to take part in the Rhode Island Invitational hosted by the University of Rhode Island.
