Roxbury, Mass. - The Minutemen had a strong showing on Friday after placing fourth overall at the Reebok Boston Indoor Games hosted by Northeastern University. Top performances of the day included fifth year senior James Godinho (Sandwich, Mass.) who placed first in the 500 meter dash in a time of 1:05.07, which qualifies him for the IC4A. In field events, sophomore Steve Gerome (Waltham, Mass.) took first place in the long jump competition with a jump of 22 feet, 7 inches, while senior Erik Hoagland (Belchertown, Mass.) took second place with a jump of 22 feet, 4.5 inches.

Other notable performances of the day included junior Nathan Barksdale (Valparaiso, Ind.) who placed seventh in the 400 meter dash in a time of 52.45 seconds. Sophomore David Lopes (Brockton, Mass.) had a seasonal best in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:08.38 to have him finish twelfth. In the men's 200 meter dash, Erik Hoagland placed eighth with a time of 22.70 seconds, while senior Manuel Harris-Lopes (Roxbury, Mass.) placed tenth in 23.01 seconds.

In the 1 mile run, sophomore Peter Fortunato (Tewksbury, Mass.) placed fourth with a time of 4:19.09, while junior Ryan Durkin (Andover, Mass.) was right behind in sixth place with a time of 4:19.60. Junior Kevin Murphy (Bridgewater, Mass.) placed ninth in the 800 meter run to finish in 1:55.55, while senior Zac Pryzsiecki (Princeton, N.J.) placed tenth in a time of 1:57.75.

Sophomore Jesse Regnier (Hampden, Mass.) took third place in the 5000 meter run to finish in 15:06.52, while junior Joseph Czupryna (Chicopee, Mass.) placed tenth in 15:23.08. In the 55 meter hurdles, sophomore Kevin Ianetta (Tewksbury, Mass.) placed fifth with a time of 8.26 seconds.

In the 4x400 meter relay, the team of Nathan Barksdale, Kevin Ianetta, Manuel Harris-Lopes, and James Godinho placed fourth with a time of 3:25.22. The team of junior James Bentley (Cotuit Mass.), freshman Ian Hackney (Stratford, Conn.), David Lopes, and freshman Brian Miller (Foxboro, Mass.) placed eleventh in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:34.33.

In the distance medley, Ryan Durkin, Ian Hackney, Peter Fortunato, and Jonathan Pierce placed fifth with a time of 10:31.09. Right behind them in sixth place with a time of 10:36.33 was the team of James Bentley, Nils Fischer, Ian Hackney, and Wes Jones.

In field events, Brian Miller placed eleventh in the high jump competition with a distance of 5 feet, 11.5 inches.

Overall, the Minutemen placed fourth out of thirteen teams competing. The Minutemen will travel to Kingston, Rhode Island on Friday, February 2 to take part in the Rhode Island Mega Meet.
