Garber Field New Surface Installation Complete

The new artificial surface installation at UMass' Garber Field has been completed. The finishing touches including line markers will be painted on this week. Field hockey head coach Patty Shea calls it "one of the finest installations" she has seen of a new artifical surface in the country. Her team has been practicing on Garber for several days.

"We are so happy the field is in place," said Shea. "You can feel how spongy the surface. The crew working on the field has been great in allowing us to practice on the portions of the field when they have been completed."

The UMass men's and women's lacrosse teams will be practicing on the new Garber Field when they return to school in early September.
