No. 19 UMass Hosts Niagara TONIGHT

AMHERST, Mass. - The Minutemen (6-3-2, 4-2-1 Hockey East) play host to the Niagara Purple Eagles Friday night at the Mullins Center. Game time is set for 7 p.m. UMass is coming off of a 2-2 (OT) tie at No. 9 Boston University, and tonight's game will mark the final nonconference game prior to the Holiday Break. The Minutemen have a home-and-home with Boston College next weekend to close out the first half of the season.
The Purple Eagles are unbeaten in the last seven games (5-0-2) and boast four players that have already reached the 20-point mark this season. All-time, UMass is 3-0-0 vs. Niagara, with the Minutemen scoring four goals in each win. The most recent meeting between the schools was in February of 2004: a 4-3 win for Massachusetts on the road.
Next weekend's home-and-home series with Boston College will close out the first half of 2006-07, with Friday's game being played in Amherst. Friday is the fourth-annual Mullet Night at UMass, as well as the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) Holiday Toy Drive. Everyone is encouraged to bring new, unwrapped gifts to the game.
