Fresh off winning the A-10 Rowing Title, UMass takes aim at another ECAC title

UMass Looks To Defend ECAC Rowing Championship

Amherst, Mass. - The UMass women's rowing team will travel to Regatta Point State Park in Worcester, Mass., on Sunday May 8, looking to defend the ECAC Championship it won last season. It is an all-day event, with preliminaries beginning at 7 a.m. and the finals held in the afternoon. Schools from all over the East Coast will compete.

The Minutewomen will have six boats competing. The line-up is as follows:

Varsity 8: Kristina Ferraro (cox), Ellen Maskrey, Lea Jakobsen, Gabrielle Papineau, Hannah Brewster, Stephanie Hopf, Katie Berger, Faith Harkins, Catherine Gariepy.

2nd Varsity 8: Allison Medoff (cox), Kate Grogan, Tara Guinan, Melissa Stewart, Jaime Dicke, Jenn Kennedy, Jay Yankowski, Justina Jassen, Katie Freeley.

Varsity 4: Allison Medoff (cox), Kristen Boyce, Allie Bahn, Jess Bridge, Jackie Tuell.

1st Novice 8: Dana Pulda (cox), Courtney Mulvihill, Amanda Mawn, Lizzy Hayashida, Stephanie Rist, Rachael Nealer, Julie Markus, Michelle Woodford, Julia Stern.

2nd Novice 8: Natalie Salerno (cox), Anne Osborn, Laura Condella, Annie Pacheco, Baille Jones, Sara Weinstock, Erin Kershaw, Leisl Bauman, Sara Collins.

Lightweight 8: Mary Horan (cox), Tracy Altamura, Melissa Kelly, Abby Lively, Heather Harrington, Maria Arcari, Jackie Burgoyne, Kaitlyn Wolk, Kara Linnehan.

Directions to Regatta Point State Park:

Due to construction on Plantation Street, Lake Avenue cannot be accessed by trailers directly from Plantaion Street. The following directions have been modified to be "trailer friendly".

From NE Massachusetts and New Hampshire Take Interstate Route 495 South. Get off at Interstate Route 290 West (Worcester). Get off at Exit 22 (Main St.). Turn right at the end of the ramp. Turn left at the second traffic light onto Plantation Street. Turn left onto North Road (between the Mercandante Funeral Home and UMass Medical Center). Proceed to Lake Ave and turn right. The park entrance is one hundred yards on the left.

From Connecticut, Western Massachusetts and Vermont Take the The Massachusetts Turnpike East. Get off at Interstate Route 290 East (Worcester). Get off at Exit 21 (Plantation St.). Turn right at the end of the ramp. Turn left onto North Road (between the Mercandante Funeral Home and UMass Medical Center). Proceed to Lake Ave and turn right. The park entrance is one hundred yards on the left.

From Boston and Eastern Massachusetts Take the Massachusetts Turnpike or Route 9 West. Get off at Interstate Route 495 North. Get off at Interstate Route 290 West (Worcester). Get off at Exit 22 (Main St.). Turn right at the end of the ramp. Turn left at the second traffic light onto Plantation Street. Turn left onto North Road (between the Mercandante Funeral Home and UMass Medical Center). Proceed to Lake Ave and turn right. The park entrance is one hundred yards on the left.

From Rhode Island Take Interstate Route 395 North. Follow until it turns into Route 290. Get off at Exit 21 (Plantation St.). Turn right at the end of the ramp. Turn left onto North Road (between the Mercandante Funeral Home and UMass Medical Center). Proceed to Lake Ave and turn right. The park entrance is one hundred yards on the left.

Take Route 146 North. Follow to Interstate Route 290. Take Route 290 East and get off at Exit 21 (Pantation St.). Turn right at the end of the ramp. Turn left onto North Road (between the Mercandante Funeral Home and UMass Medical Center). Proceed to Lake Ave and turn right. The park entrance is one hundred yards on the left.

Directions to Donahue Rowing Center
