Pittsburgh Steelers sign Former UMass Quarterback Jeff Krohn

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Wednesday that they have signed former UMass quarterback Jeff Krohn to their roster. Krohn, along with 14 other Steelers free agent signings, will be allocated to play in the NFL Europe League.

Krohn, a transfer from Arizona State, played two years for current Steelers quarterback coach Mark Whipple. While at UMass he threw for 4,994 yards with 44 touchdowns while completing 53 percent of all attempts. In 2003, Krohn lead UMass to a share of the Atlantic 10 title and was named to the New England Football Writers Association All-Star team.

Krohn was signed as an undrafted free agent. The terms of the deal were not released.
