Tennis Competes At ITA Regional

WEST POINT, N.Y. -- Junior Michele Spiess (Stuttgart, Germany) lost to Seton Hall's Viviana Figueroa, 3-6, 4-6, in the seconf round of singles play at the ITA East Regional held on the campus of the United States Military Academy. This was a rematch of the semifinals from the flight A singles at the Quinnipiac Invitational in September. Spiess won that match and went on to win the flight.
In doubles action, senior Dorothy Iwanowicz (Hilton Head, S.C.) and senior Susan Johnson (Arnold, Md.) lost to Bucknell's Paulina Gambora and Veronica Brown 6-8.
This concludes the fall portion of the Minutewomen's schedule. They will open up the spring slate Feb. 8, 2006, at Brown.
