Tawczynski Earns Atlantic 10 Scholarship Award

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Senior swimmer Peter Tawczynski (Holden, Mass.) was awarded a postgraduate scholarship by the Atlantic 10 Conference, announced by commissioner Linda Bruno this morning. Tawczynski is one of just four A-10 student-athletes receiving the scholarship.
Tawczysnki helped lead Massachusetts to four consecutive Atlantic 10 men's swimming and diving titles during his career, earning All-Conference accolades all four years. At this year's conference championships he earned points by placing third in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:06.32) and fifth in the 200-yard individual medley (1:54.70). He ranks second all-time at UMass in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:04.36), fifth in both the 100-yard breaststroke (57.90) and the 400-yard IM (4:01.49), and seventh in the 200-yard IM (1:52.81). An accounting major with a 3.21 GPA, Tawczynski will continue his accounting studies in graduate school at UMass.
