AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts senior linebacker Jeremy Cain (Tamarac, Fla.) has been honored by the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) as an All-America Strength & Conditioning Athlete of the Year. Recipients of the award are recognized for their dedication to strength training and conditioning.
This year, the NSCA has honored 186 collegiate athletes from 80 schools with this esteemed award. Cain was selected by his strength coach, Bob Otrando, who said, "Jeremy Cain is dedicated to training 24 hours a day, seven days a week. He does all the little things right, and with great focus. His dedication will be the reason he will be playing football on Sundays next year."
Robert Jursnick, the NSCA's executive director adds, "The advantages of strength training and conditioning can not be denied in collegiate athletics. These student-athletes attest to this understanding, and are to be applauded for their hard work and dedication."
The NSCA All-America Strength & Conditioning Athlete of the Year program is in its 21st year, and is made possible by a grant from Power Systems, Inc., a Knoxville, Tenn., fitness product leader.
