BOSTON, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts men's track and field team competed in the IC4A Championships in Boston, Mass., Saturday and Sunday, March 6-7.

Senior Kwesi Frimpong-Boateng (Accra, Ghana) earned a second-place finish in the 55-meter dash with his clocking of 6.28, also setting a new season and personal best, as well as a new school record. UMass faired well in the 500-meter run with performances by junior James Godinho (Sandwich, Mass.), who placed 14th with a 1:04.16, and senior John O'Neil (North Reading, Mass.), who placed 13th with a 1:04.16. The UMass 4x400-meter relay, consisting of senior David Falvey (Billerica, Mass.), O'Neil, Godinho, and junior Joseph McCormack (Wrentham, Mass.), placed 26th with a time of 3:35.81. The distance relay, consisting of junior Matt Clark (Worcester, Mass.), junior Jon Korhonen (Gardner, Mass.), junior Dave McMenamy (Falmouth, Mass.) and freshman Tyler Simpson (Lexington, Mass.), placed 8th with a time of 10:10.45. The team finished 30th of 53 teams with 9 points.

UMass men's track and field returns to action March 26-27 at the Raleigh Relays.
