AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts senior diver Logan Alomar (Silver Spring, Md.) will be competing at the NCAA Div. I Zone A Diving Regionals, held March 12-14, at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. This will mark his second trip to the regional competition, as he qualified as a freshman as well.
To qualify for the regional meet, divers must attain a score of 290.00 in the six-dive one-meter dive and 310.00 in the six-dive three-meter dive during the season. Alomar far eclipsed both of these marks, as he posted a one-meter score of 310.05 in a home win over Fordham and a three-meter score of 433.95 at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships.
"If he dives well he's got a great chance to be one of the top divers at the meet," said head coach Mandy Hixon. "I am really proud of the season he has had. He has made a strong commitment to this program over his four years here and has been a pleasure to coach."
