AMHERST, Mass. - Junior swimmer Justin Zeimetz (Rochester, N.H.) was awarded co-A-10 Swimmer of the Week, announced today by the Atlantic 10 Conference. Zeimetz won two individual events and was a key performer in the UMass win over Fordham on Saturday.
Zeimetz took top honors in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.26, then went on to win the 100-yard free event with a mark of 47.05. He was also a member of the fastest 200-yard freestyle relay team which swam the event as an exhibition, in which the times are official but the points do not count towards the meet results.
The UMass men's and women's swimming and diving teams will be back in action on Thursday, Feb. 19, as they travel to Buffalo, N.Y. to compete in the Atlantic 10 Championships.
