BOSTON, Mass.- The University of Massachusetts men's track team placed third out of five teams with 104 points at Boston College with a meet against University of New Hampshire, Boston College, Holy Cross and Northeastern University.

Senior Kwesi Frimpong-Boateng (Accra, Ghana) earned a first place finish in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.48. Sophomore James Godinho (Sandwich, Mass.) clocked a time of 1:07.60 in the 500-meter earning him a first place finish. Godinho also placed second in the long jump with a mark of 20' 10-3/4". Junior Dave McMenamy (Falmouth, Mass.) placed first in the 800-meter with his time of 2:00.46.

Freshman Tyler Simpson (Lexington, Mass.) had a solid start to his UMass career with top ten finishes in the long jump and the high jump. Junior Henry Smith (Ellington, Conn.) finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 44' 10-1/4".

UMass men's track returns to action next Saturday, January 30 with the Adidas Boston Indoor Classic.
