University of Massachusetts junior outfielder Jason Twomley (Fitchburg, Mass.) has been named the Coca-Cola Player of the Week for the Cape Cod Baseball League. Both Twomley and senior shortstop Mike Athas (Holyoke, Mass.) are spending the summer playing in the Cape League, the premier amateur baseball league in the nation since 1885.

A member of the Brewster Whitecaps, Jason Twomley finished the week as the Cape League's leading hitter to earn Player of the Week honors. A left-handed hitting slugger, Twomley hit at a .438 clip over six games, belting two home runs and driving in five runs. With an on-base percentage of .500.

Overall in the Cape League season, Twomley is batting .346 with three homers and seven runs batted in. He is currently one of only six players in the entire league batting over .300.
