AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts men's basketball senior Anthony Anderson (Lynn, Mass.) was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for his performance in two games this past week. The guard averaged 24.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in a 1-1 week for the Minutemen.

In defeating Vermont, Anderson scored a career-high 29 points including a career-high seven three-pointers to go along with four rebounds and four assists. He followed that performance up with a 20-point, eight-rebound effort against Boston College.

On the season, Anderson leads the Minutemen with 17.4 points per game, a figure that also ranks fifth in the Atlantic 10. The Bay State native also leads the A-10 in three-pointers made (19) and is second in three-point field goal percentage (.514) having converted 19-of-37 attempts.

UMass men's basketball returns to action this Tuesday, Dec. 9, as it travel to Mohegan Sun Arena for a 7:30 p.m. contest against Central Connecticut.
