Anderson Named UMass Athlete of the Week

AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts men's basketball senior Anthony Anderson (Lynn, Mass.) was named the Dinn Brothers UMass Athlete of the Week for his performance in two games this past week. The guard, who was also named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, averaged 24.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in a 1-1 week for the Minutemen.
In defeating Vermont, Anderson scored a career-high 29 points including a career-high seven three-pointers to go along with four rebounds and four assists. He followed that performance up with a 20-point, eight-rebound effort against Boston College.
On the season, Anderson leads the Minutemen with 16.0 points per game, leads the Atlantic 10 in three-pointers made (3.67 per contest), having canned 22 trifectas, and leads the conference in three-point field goal percentage (.512), having converted 22-of-43 attempts.
