Swimmer Wins Weekly Atlantic 10 Honor

AMHERST, Mass. - Junior swimmer Dylan Smith (Timonium, Md.) was awarded A-10 Swimmer of the Week, announced today by the Atlantic 10 Conference. Smith won four events in the Minuteman victory over Boston University on Saturday, Nov. 8.
Smith showed true versatility at the meet, winning four events in three different strokes. He placed first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 52.33 and took the top spot in the 200-yard freestyle with a mark of 1:46.20, while his time of 1:59.60 was good enough to win the 200-yard backstroke. This all took place after he began the meet by swimming a leg on the 200-yard medley relay team, who went on to win with a time of 1:38.02.
The UMass men's and women's swimming and diving teams will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 22, as they host St. John's. The competition will begin at 1:00 p.m, and will be held at the Joseph R. Rogers, Jr. Pool in Boyden Gymnasium.
