AMHERST, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts women's tennis team downed Quinnipiac College, 4-3, yesterday in the final dual match of the season at the Upper Boyden Courts. The Minutewomen conclude the regular season with a 6-14 overall record.
Quinnipiac started the match off taking the doubles point, despite the win at No. 2 by sophomore Jafra Depontes (Kaliua-Kona, Hawaii) and freshman Stephanie Price (Columbia, Mo.).
In singles, Depontes, Price, senior Helena Horak (Westlake Village, Calif.) and sophomore Susan Hyams (Cincinnati, Ohio) all won their matches at first through fourth singles to secure the close victory for the Maroon & White.
Massachusetts will compete in the Verizon Atlantic 10 Championship, April 19-21, in College Park, Md. The conference will announce the seedings at its annual meeting on April 18.
