AMHERST, Mass. -- Massachusetts men's swimming head coach Russ Yarworth announced this week that Amherst Regional High School swimmer, Greg Chartier, has committed to attend UMass next season.
"Greg is a very versatile, talented swimmer who will really bring strength to our program," said Yarworth. "It will be great to have a hometown kid represent UMass and help us continue to be a force in the Atlantic 10 conference."
Chartier was the Western Massachusetts champion in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard freestyle last season. He has also set school records in the 100-, 200-, and 500-yard freestyle, as well as in the 200-yard individual medley. Chartier has been a leader at ARHS away from competition as well, serving as the team's captain his junior and senior years.
