Baseball Falls To Harvard 21-11

BOSTON, Mass. -- Senior designated hitter Nick Gorneault (Springfield, Mass.) hit two home runs for his fifth and sixth of the season, but it was not enough as the University of Massachusetts baseball team fell to Harvard, this afternoon. UMass falls to 14-15 on the season, while Harvard improves to 17-21.
Gorneault hit a solo homer in the first inning, a three-run homer in the sixth and he drove in junior outfielder Connell Clark (Springfield, Mass.) on a ground out to shortstop in the eighth as he had five runs batted in. Sophomore first baseman Jeff Altieri (Whitinsville, Mass.) drove in three runs as he doubled in junior outfielder Mike Kulak (Bristol, Conn.) in the third and had a two-run homer in the fifth for his sixth of the season.
The Minutemen return to action on Wednesday, April 25, when they host Vermont at Earl Lorden Field at 3:00 p.m.
