BRONX, N.Y. -- The University of Massachusetts men's swimming and diving team won nine of the 13 events to defeat Atlantic 10 foe Fordham by a score of 153-87, this afternoon. With the win, the Minutemen improve to 10-4 on the season.

Freshman diver Logan Alomar (Silver Spring, Md.) placed first in both diving events with a score of 265.2 in the one-meter and a 268.5 in the three-meter. Senior Chris Arsenault (Peabody, Mass.) won the 200 IM with a time of 1:54.99.

Other UMass individual winners included senior Billy Brown (Fullerton, Calif.) in the 200 breast (2:09.64), sophomore Tommy Keane (Melrose, Mass.) in the 500 free (4:50.85), sophomore Chad Arnold (Mohnton, Pa.) in the 200 free (1:48.81) and sophomore Scott Peterson (Martinez, Calif.) in the 1000 free (10:24.95).

UMass took both relay events with the 400 medley relay team of Arsenault, Brown, senior Joe Martin (Naugatuck, Conn.) and senior Mike Sabina (Avon, Mass.) winning with a time of 3:31.65, and the 400 free relay team of junior Ryan Fisher (Santa Barbara, Calif.), Sabina, Arnold and Arsenault winning the event with a time of 3:11.25.

The Minutemen return to the pool on Friday, Feb. 9, and Saturday, Feb. 10, when they compete at the UConn Husky Invitational. The Atlantic 10 Championships are slated for Feb. 15-17, in Buffalo, N.Y.
