PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Freshman Kelly Chassy (Morgan Hill, Calif.) scored five goals to lead the No. 12 University of Massachusetts women's water polo team to a 16-5 win over Brown, at the New England Invitational at Brown, on Saturday. UMass improves to 3-1 on the season and 8-4 all-time versus the Bears.
Senior All-American Marci Hupp (Hilliard, Ohio) tallied three goals, while senior Claudia Clement (Piti, Guam) and senior All-American Katie Grogan (Costa Mesa, Calif.) each scored twice. Five other Minutewomen each scored once. Sophomore goalie Dana Sinkwich (Ontario, Calif.) made six saves in the win.
The Minutewomen continue play in the New England Invitational this afternoon, when they take on No. 19 Harvard at 4:00 p.m. and Queens College at 5:30 p.m. UMass is 11-3 all-time versus the Crimson and 1-0 versus Queens.
