THE WEEK IN REVIEW: The Minutewomen fell, 4-3, to Columbia on Sept. 24, in Amherst, Mass., in Umass? first dual match of the fall season. Senior Ola Gerasimova (Liatvia Ridge, Russia), sophomore Annie Hamilton (Plano, Texas) and freshman Katie Stammen (North Attleboro, Mass.) all posted singles victories in the loss. The duo of Gerasimova and Hamilton compiled a win in No. 1 doubles. The match against Amherst on Sept. 21 was postponed due to the rain. It is rescheduled for Oct. 8, at 3:30 p.m.

UP NEXT: Women?s tennis will next be in action on the road aginst St. John?s and Dartmouth on Sept. 29 and 30, respectively.

INJURY REPORT: Sophomore Helena Horak (Westlake Village, Calif.) was forced to retire her singles match against Columbia due to a wrist injury. Horak?s playing status for this week?s matches is uncertain.

CLOSING IN ON 100: Head coach Judy Dixon (Southern California ?73) is closing in on her 100th UMass victory. Dixon, who is in her eighth season with the Minutewomen, needs just 10 more victories to record No. 100. She currently stands at 130-62 overall and 90-48 at UMass. Before coming to UMass, Dixon spent three seasons at Yale, where she was 40-14 overall.
