Women's basketball is led by Kathy Coyner's 20 points.
AMHERST, Mass. (AP) - Kathy Coyner scored 20 points and added 10 assists as Massachusetts beat No. 22 Stanford 74-69 Sunday.
Coyner, who also had three steals, hit two free throws with 30 seconds left to put UMass (2-6) ahead for good. Alison MacFarland added two more free throws with eight seconds remaining to ice it.
UMass's Nekole Smith hit seven of eight shots from the field and finished with 17 points. MacFarland had 11.
Lauren St. Clair scored 18 points to lead Stanford (2-2).
