Erica Lemm joined the University of Massachusetts athletics department as the Assistant Athletic Director for Sport Administration in January 2024. She spent the previous nearly five years at Mount Holyoke College. She is the sport administrator for the Massachusetts cross country and track and field teams as well as for the men's and women's soccer programs.
 
Prior to UMass, Lemm served as the Senior Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator at nearby Mount Holyoke from August 2022 until departing to join the Massachusetts staff. From March of 2021 through July of 2022, Lemm was the Interim Director of Athletics/Senior Woman Administrator at Mount Holyoke after joining the Lyons staff as an Associate Director of Athletics/Senior Woman Administrator in May of 2019. She also served as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator throughout her time at the College.
 
While in the interim AD role, Lemm was responsible for all aspects of intercollegiate athletics,  as well as oversight of physical education and the Equestrian Center and was charged with leading the department’s return to operations through the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, while in the interim AD chair, she increased donor relations and later supported the institution’s first athletics day of giving.
 
At Mount Holyoke, Lemm advised the management of schedules and logistics including special event and game day oversight throughout the pandemic. She also provided oversight and assistance with staff position searches, had sport administrator responsibilities, and supported event management oversight/served as a game administrator.
 
Lemm’s additional accomplishments at Mount Holyoke included creating the Head Sports Performance Coach position and subsequently hiring that position. Lemm also hired a head soccer coach, a head cross country and track and field coach and a head lacrosse coach. She created strategic recruiting initiatives while managing recruiting budgets and roster sizes with coaching staffs. 
 
Lemm served as the department’s compliance officer for NCAA and institutional rules and created and implemented regular athletics staff rules education programming and added additional student-athlete education opportunities. She also led the creation of playing and practice season procedures following new NCAA legislation.
 
Lemm oversaw facility renovations including the renovation of the turf and track complex that was completed in August 2022, the design and renovation of the locker rooms and strength and conditioning space that led to a new strength and conditioning center completed in December 2023.
 
On the student-athlete side, Lemm was responsible for implementing a Peak Performance and Leadership Academy for student-athletes and creating signature development events for each student-athlete cohort (first-years, sophomores, juniors, seniors). Under the Peak Performance umbrella, she developed mentorship programming, leadership development initiatives as well as additional service and learning opportunities. She served as the advisor of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Student-Athlete Leadership Team (SALT), a group she created to provide support and development to team captains.
 
Prior to Mount Holyoke, Lemm was the Associate Director of Athletics/SWA at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana (August 2017 – January 2019).
 
Before Earlham, Lemm was an Assistant Athletics Director at Rosemont College in Rosemont, Pennsylvania (September 2016 – August 2017), an Assistant Athletics Director/SWA at Yeshiva University in New York City (August 2014 – September 2016) and a Sports Coordinator at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan (May 2011 – August 2014).
 
In service to Division III, Lemm served on the NCAA Division III Membership Committee from August 2019-December 2023. She has also attended the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum, the NCAA Leadership Academy Workshop, and the NCAA Effective Facilitation Workshop. She is involved in Women Leaders in Sports having completed the Leadership Symposium, Institute for Administrative Advancement, and the Leadership Enhancement Institute.
 
Lemm earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Physical Education and Sport as well as a Master of Arts in Sport Administration from Central Michigan University.
