Stephanie Jarosik joined the Academic Success staff at the University of Massachusetts in November 2021. She is responsible for creating individualized learning profiles and educational development plans, while monitoring and tracking the academic progress for UMass’ at-risk student-athletes.
Jarosik is the Academic Counselor for the Women’s Track and Field and Cross-Country teams. She monitors student-athletes’ NCAA eligibility and graduation requirements, while also tracking the Academic Progress Rate of both programs.
Additionally, Jarosik oversees the athletic department’s Student Learning Assistant (SLA) program, tutoring program, and Academic Success Assistant internship program.Â
Jarosik came to UMass from American International where she served as an advisor for student-athlete success from 2020 to 2021. At AIC, in addition to educating and promoting the success and wellness of 650+ student-athletes from 24 sports, she overhauled the department’s athletic study hall to include a tiered system, identified at-risk student-athletes for the objective-based program and co-chaired the Athletics’ Leadership Development Academy Committee. Jarosik also taught various levels for the AIC Plan for Excellence (APEX) courses in 2021.
Prior to her time at AIC, Jarosik was an assistant learning specialist at Maryland where she assisted in the day-to-day operation of objective based study hall and GSAC facilities and worked with a caseload of approximately 10 academically at-risk football student-athletes.
Jarosik earned her Master of Education degree in psychology with a concentration in athletic counseling from Springfield College. Jarosik received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Salisbury. She has been a member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) since 2020.Â
