Boston Globe: 2014-15 UMass men's basketball preview

The Boston Globe posted its college basketball preview capsules of the seven Division I teams on Tuesday and here's what they wrote about UMass.

Coach: Derek Kellogg (seventh season, 109-85).
2013-14: 24-9 (10-6 in Atlantic 10, tied for fifth). Starters: G Derrick Gordon, 6-3, Jr. (9.4 ppg); G Trey Davis, 6-0, Jr. (9.2 ppg, 2.5 apg); C Cady Lalanne, 6-10, Sr. (11.3 ppg, 7.9 rpg); F Maxie Esho, 6-8, Sr. (8.9 ppg, 5.0 rpg). F Seth Berger, 6-7, So. (0.4 ppg).
Key reserves: G Jabarie Hinds, 5-11, Jr. (transfer); F Zach Coleman, 6-7, Fr.; G Donte Clark, 6-4, Fr.; F/C Tyler Bergantino, 6-9, Jr. (0.9 ppg, 1.5 rpg).
Outlook: A repeat of last season would be surprising, but the Minutemen will still be tough, especially if Lalanne continues to improve and uses his great physical skills to become an all-league-caliber player. Gordon needs to increase his scoring output and Davis has to be a calm influence. Depth could be a problem.
