Forbes Leads X-Men To NYC Fireball Crown
Former UMass star and current Denver Nugget Gary Forbes was in action in New York City over the weekend, leading the X-Men to a 127-126 overtime victory over Bingo's All-Stars to win the Fireball Championship at Baruch College. Forbes poured in a game-high 45 points and was named MVP. The New York native, who recently resigned with the Nuggets, hit several key free throws down the stretch and made a sensational steal and reverse layup with 19.2 seconds to go to help seal the victory. The event kicked off a busy summer in NYC's many streetball leagues.
