Michigan Expected To Formally Announce Addition Of Lacrosse Today

The Michigan Athletic Department will be holding a press conference at Noon today with the college lacrosse world abuzz that it will be the formal announcement of the addition of men's and women's programs in Ann Arbor.

That would make the Wolverines the first BCS-playing football school since Notre Dame in 1981 to add the sport.

Michigan is expected to add men's lacrosse as soon as 2012 with the women's team coming on board the following year. No word on what conference the women would play in, but the men's team is expected to join the ECAC.
