John Griffin and Jonathan Hernandez are expected to get the bulk of the carries for UMass this season, but don't sleep on Jamar Smith. Smith is a redshirt freshman. He switched his jersey to number 5 this season. His number at Binghamton high school. UMass running back great Steve Baylark and Marcel Shipp both wore number 5.
