McGuirk Stadium Served As Party Site For Mass Dash
In the Springfield Republican there is a recap of Mass Dash. Forty teams participated in the inaugural Mass Dash Saturday and Sunday, starting at the Mount Greylock State Reservation in Lanesboro and finishing 200 miles later at the University of Massachusetts-Boston. The route traveled from the Berkshires, through the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, across the Quabbin Reservoir and into Hopkinton before the finish at UMass-Boston. Relay teams consisted of a dozen or so runners each, with one member of each team always running along the route.
