AMHERST, Mass. — The University of Massachusetts men's cross country program opened up their season with a victory at the Ken O'Brien Invitational on Saturday. The Minutemen were led by junior Cyrus Hansen, who took second overall, helping lead UMass to a score of 27. Massachusetts held five top-10 times, and six in the top-11.

- Sophomore Liam Davidson earned seventh place with a time of 19:26.8.
- First-year Ryan Maher narrowly missed the top-10 with a performance of 19:38.7, finishing 11th.
