Faessler Tabbed MAC Singles Player Of The Week

Ella Faessler earned her first weekly honor of the season and second of her career.
AMHERST, Mass. – Senior Ella Faessler tabbed the Mid-American Conference Singles Player of the Week, as the University of Massachusetts picks up the accolade for the second straight week. The honor marks the second in Faessler's career and first of the year.
On a 2-0 week for UMass, Faessler went 2-0 in singles competition. Faessler earned a 3-6, 6-4, 7-6(4) win at No. 1 over Boston University's Gabriella Mikayla, one of the best in the region, to help the Minutewomen to a 5-2 victory on Saturday. She also came away with a 7-5, 6-0 win at the No. 2 slot over Hofstra, aiding Massachusetts to a 7-0 sweep on Sunday afternoon.
Massachusetts takes a weeklong break, before returning to the court on Friday, February 27, for a 3 p.m. match against Stony Brook at the Bay Road Indoor Tennis Center.
