AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse freshmen Robbie Granara and Owen Salanger have both been selected as the UMass Student-Athletes of the Week following the team's Atlantic 10 opening 11-10 road win over No. 16/15 Saint Joseph's last Saturday. The duo will be honored at Wednesday's UMass Sports Luncheon at the Berkshire Dining Commons.

Granara, the current Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, posted a hat trick in UMass' victory over the Hawks and picked up a ground ball to help the squad improve to 8-2 on the season. He extended his goal scoring streak to 10 straight games to start his collegiate career and has multiple points in all 10 of those contests.

Salanger stopped 13 shots and posted a 10.00 goals against average and a .565 save percentage to backstop UMass to the road win, including a clutch stop on the Hawks' final possession of a one-goal game with less than a minute to play. The Liverpool, N.Y. native also collected two ground balls against Saint Joseph's and improved his record in net to 8-1 on the season.
