The Script U Scholarship Society will allow passionate UMass alums and fans to directly support student-athlete scholarships
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts athletics and The Minutemen Club are proud to announce the official launch of the Script U Scholarship Society. With the expected changes in NCAA Division I athletics coming later this year, Massachusetts Athletics is committed to funding additional scholarships and benefits for student-athletes. The Script U Scholarship Society will allow passionate UMass alums and fans to directly support student-athlete scholarships and help offset the total annual scholarship cost to the department.
"College athletics has evolved at an unprecedented rate and the Script U Scholarship Society is our way of fully embracing this moment," said Director of Athletics Ryan Bamford. "Our dedication to offering UMass student-athletes a top-tier academic and athletic experience remains unchanged, and we will continue to grow our support to meet the opportunities and compete for championships in this era."
The Script U Scholarship Society has also been designed to enhance the overall fan and donor experience, simplify giving to Massachusetts Athletics and make it easier for supporters at all levels to get involved. Society membership will provide donors with a host of benefits including ticket and parking privileges, hospitality access, special events, postseason ticket priority and much more.

- Donor Benefits – A new comprehensive, re-imagined benefits chart will outline all levels of support and associated benefits. Cumulative Script U Scholarship Society giving to the general scholarship fund or directed to a specific sport's scholarship fund, will determine your annual membership level. Sport-specific club (i.e. Court Club, Gridiron Club, Pond Club, etc.) giving will remain a priority for UMass Athletics, however it will no longer count towards annual membership levels and benefits. Starting July 1, 2025, an annual Script U Scholarship Society membership will be required to access annual benefits.
 - Membership Calendar – The athletic giving year runs July 1 to June 30, coinciding with the University's fiscal year. Donors will be encouraged to renew their Script U Scholarship Society membership by June 30 of the current fiscal year to activate annual benefits for the upcoming athletic year (2025-26).
 - Sport-Specific Benefits – Beginning with the 2025-26 athletic year, the purchase of sport-specific season tickets will be required to access sport-specific benefits (i.e. "Sam the Minuteman" must purchase football season tickets to activate his access to the Jim & Ellen Hunt Hospitality Room, Gridiron Club Tailgate and donor lot parking on a football gameday).
