Massachusetts Receives Numerous NFHCA Academic Honors

AMHERST, MA.-- The University of Massachusetts field hockey program received National Academic Team honors while 14 student athletes earned recognition on either the National Academic Squad or Scholars of Distinction list, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced.
The Minutewomen earned NFHCA National Academic Team recognition after maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.69 during the fall season showcasing the program's dedication to academic excellence alongside athletic success. This prestigious acknowledgment is granted to programs that have achieved an exceptional team grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year.
In addition, 14 student athletes were named for the NFHCA Division I national academic squad, which honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher through the fall semester, nominated by their NFHCA member coaches. Seven players were dually awarded the NFHCA Scholars of Distinction honors, this program acknowledges exceptional undergraduate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher through the fall semester, also nominated by their NFHCA member coaches.
