Massachusetts Tennis Picked First In Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll

Ella Faessler and Belle Jonglertrakul earn A-10 Preseason All-Conference Team honors.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – University of Massachusetts tennis was selected to finish first in the Atlantic 10 Coaches Preseason Poll with 160 points, including six first-place votes. The Minutewomen entered last season's A-10 Tournament as the No. 3 seed and collected the program's first A-10 Championship title since the 2016-17 season.

Massachusetts finished the 2023-24 season with a 15-8 overall record and a 4-1 mark in the league. After winning the A-10 Championship for the third time in program history, UMass took a trip to the First Round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2016-17 year.

In addition, the league announced the A-10 Preseason All-Conference Team, placing junior Ella Faessler and senior Belle Jonglertrakul on the list. Last season, Jonglertrakul joined landed on the All-Conference First Team, as Faessler was placed on the All-Conference Second Team.

Faessler finished last season with an overall singles record of 10-9, splitting time between No. 2 and No. 3 singles. She added a 6-4 record on court No. 3 and prevailed in her lone match at No. 1 singles for a 1-0 mark. In doubles, she posted a 12-8 record, including a 4-1 mark in the A-10 Conference, with partner Amelia Tye.

Jonglertrakul completed the 2023-24 year with a 12-5 overall singles record with an unblemished 5-0 record in A-10 competition, spending most of her time at court No. 2. She achieved a 12-8 mark in doubles play with partner Danielle Hack, as the duo ranked No. 5 in the final ITA New England Regional Doubles Rankings. The Sing Buri, Thailand, native was also named the ITA Most Improved Player and ITA Player to Watch in the New England Region.
