Massachusetts Women's Track & Field Wraps Up A Pair Of Meets

AMHERST, Mass.- The University of Massachusetts women's track and field team completed a pair of meets on Saturday afternoon. Elise O'Leary and Sadai Headley-Mawasi competed in the Georgia Tech Invitational while the rest of the Minutewomen took on the Holy Cross Invitational.

- Natalie Krysta placed sixth in the hammer throw with a mark of 148' 11".
- Three Minutewomen scored in the shot put, led by Tess Rancourt's third place throw of 42' 0.75". Behind her was Madelyn Bishop in fourth and Gabriella Pagnini in fifth.
- Krysta was the top Minutewoman in the discus, finishing second with her throw of 139' 3". Pagnini was behind her in third while Bishop came in eighth.
- Megan Frazee took second in the pole vault with a jump of 11' 11.75".
- Freshman Grace Hanafin won the long jump with a leap of 18' 6.75".
- Three other Minutewomen placed in the long jump as Bridget Lee, Winnie Sekyaya, and Madelyn Krohto came in third, fourth, and seventh respectively.
- Courtney Rowland and Tessa Bostwick both had podium finishes in the high jump. Rowland won the event with a jump of 5' 5.75" while Bostwick came in third with a jump of 5' 1.75".
- Tiarra Deveaux earned bronze in the triple jump, jumping 37' 3.25". Gabrielle Bilong and Bridget Lee also placed in the event, coming in fourth and sixth respectively.
- Freshman Evalysse Pierce won the javelin throw with a mark of 116' 2".
- Rebekah James earned silver in the 2000m steeplechase after finishing with a time of 7:11.32.
- Freshman Simone Harrison had a third place finish in the 1500m, completing the race with a time of 4:44.05.
- Jennifer Williams, Katelyn Gorgenyi and Megan Frazee all finished in the top eight of the 100m hurdles. Williams finished with a time of 14.56 to claim third while Gorgenyi and Frazee came in sixth and eighth respectively.
- Freshman Ali Murphy took fifth in the 400m with a time of 57.89.
- Jordan Lafave was the top UMass runner in the 100m, claiming fourth with her time of 12.43.
- Lara Mannes Diaz de Cerio came in fifth in the 800m.
GEORGIA TECH INVITATIONAL
- Sadai Headley-Mawasi completed the 400m with a time of 56.94.
- Elise O'Leary snuck into the top ten of the 800m by finishing the race with a time of 2:11.44.
